FIRST time on rounds yesterday. As we were about to leave, one patient suddenly went into cardiac arrest. No lie it was the biggest thrill of my life. Seeing everyone trying revive him, made me realize that I’m in the wrong profession. I want to be hands on… saving people from the brink of death.
Not sure if he made it, but I realized this:
1. I’m THANKFUL for my good health. It a privilege to work out and even grab a bite with friends… Not everyone has the luxury to leave their bed.
2. We’re going to die some day… sometimes abruptly and unexpectedly. This is just another reminder not to take love ones for granted.
3. You DEFINITELY don’t learn this shit in pharmacy school. Life lesson.
